A tourist walked into a curio shop in Toronto. Looking around at the exotica, he noticed a very life-like, life-sized bronze statue of a rat. It had no price tag, but was so striking he decided he must have it.\u00a0 He took it to the owner: \u201cHow much for the bronze rat?\u201d<\/p>\r\n
\u201cTwelve dollars for the rat, one hundred dollars for the story,\u201d said the owner.<\/p>\r\n
The tourist gave the man twelve dollars. \u201cI’ll just take the rat, you can keep the story.\u201d<\/p>\r\n
As he walked down the street carrying his bronze rat, he noticed that a few real rats had crawled out of the alleys and sewers and began following him down the street. This was disconcerting, he began walking faster.<\/p>\r\n
Within a couple blocks, the herd of rats behind him had grown into the hundreds, and they began squealing. As he began to trot toward Lake Ontario, he looked around to see that the rats now numbered in the MILLIONS, and were squealing and coming toward him, faster and faster.<\/p>\r\n
Concerned, even scared, he ran to the edge of the lakeshore, and threw the bronze rat as far out into the lake as he could.\u00a0 Amazingly, the millions of rats all jumped into Lake Ontario after it, and were all drowned.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
The man walked back to the curio shop. \u201cAh ha,\u201d said the owner, \u201cyou have come back for the story?\u201d<\/p>\r\n
\u201cNo,\u201d said the man.\u00a0 \u201cI came back to see if you have a bronze Liberal bust.\u201d<\/p>\r\n
