I asked my friend\u2019s little girl what she wanted to be when she grew up.\u00a0She said she wanted to be Prime Minister of Canada one day.<\/p>\n
Both of her parents, Liberal supporters, were standing there, so I asked her, \u201cIf you were Prime Minister what would be the first thing you would do?\u201d<\/p>\n
She replied, \u201cI\u2019d give food and houses to all the homeless people.\u201d\u00a0 Her parents beamed, and said, \u201cWelcome to the Liberal Party of Canada!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWow\u2026what a worthy goal!\u201d I told her. I continued, \u201cBut you don\u2019t have to wait until you\u2019re Prime Minister to do that. You can come over to my house, mow the lawn, pull weeds and sweep my yard, and I\u2019ll pay you $50. Then I\u2019ll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out. You can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.\u201d<\/p>\n
She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, \u201cWhy doesn\u2019t the homeless guy come over and do the work and you can just pay him the $50?\u201d<\/p>\n
I smiled and said, \u201cWelcome to the Conservative Party.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her parents still aren\u2019t speaking to me.<\/p>\n
