mentally turning over, churning out,<\/p>\n

burning out<\/p>\n

click:\u00a0 new topic, same perspective \u2013 need to refocus<\/p>\n

click. double click (let\u2019s delete that thought)<\/p>\n

AND wipe clear that idea<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

it\u2019s a major shutdown<\/p>\n

fatigued \u2013 no chance to stretch my imagination<\/p>\n

or hide away in my gray matter, with what matters<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So hopeless, I remain scratching words to form phrases<\/p>\n

with a desire to describe a riddle of humanity for those who<\/p>\n

struggle under the weight of the human condition<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Yet, reaching inside is harder than stretching forward<\/p>\n

It is exhausting to reach and grasp nothing but air<\/p>\n

to attempt to grab hold of your guts and have them<\/p>\n

slip from your hands<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

click<\/p>\n

(longing for those brief moments of exhilaration\u2026)<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

click<\/p>\n

(\u2026when there\u2019s a connection that grounds you in the present\u2026)<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

click<\/p>\n

(\u2026and forces you to admit that life\u2019s for the living\u2026)<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I think of Nietzsche: Even the bravest of us<\/p>\n

rarely has the courage for what he really knows.<\/p>\n

And I hear echoes of Springsteen\u2019s refrain:<\/p>\n

Is a dream a lie that doesn\u2019t come true?<\/p>\n

as I reach for the delete button<\/p>\n
