I don’t ever remember auditioning<\/p>\n

but I cross the stage and lights fade to dim<\/p>\n

the audience hushes to catch this melodrama<\/p>\n

and I feel all eyes are staring through my performance<\/p>\n

I bring out the jokers, the fools<\/p>\n

the bastard, the bitch<\/p>\n

they strut, scream<\/p>\n

crawl<\/p>\n

beg<\/p>\n

and eventually cry forgiveness<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

and it is all replaying itself<\/p>\n

on stage after stage<\/p>\n

in a car, in a room,<\/p>\n

on the street corner<\/p>\n

same lines, same roles<\/p>\n
