My family was pleased to be in Ottawa yesterday to be part of the good news for Canadians coping with severe, life-threatening allergies. \u00a0Here are some\u00a0references to what\u00a0I had to say in Ottawa. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

George\u2019s seven-year old son, David, is allergic to nuts and legumes, so it\u2019s \u201cabsolutely necessary\u201d that food labels are accurate and written in plain language, he said.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cWe depend on our food producers, we depend on our food packagers to provide accurate labelling, so we know what the content is. We need to be 100% sure. That is the reason why this announcement is good news for our family,\u201d Mr. George said.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
