A family had twin boys whose only resemblance to each other was their looks. If one felt it was too hot, the other thought it was too cold. If one said the TV was too loud, the other claimed the volume needed to be turned up. Opposite in every way, one was an eternal optimist, the other a doom and gloom pessimist.<\/p>\n

Just to see what would happen, on Christmas Eve\u00a0the twins\u2019\u00a0father loaded the pessimist\u2019s room with every imaginable toy and game. The optimist\u2019s room he loaded with horse manure.<\/p>\n

Christmas morning\u00a0the father passed by the pessimist\u2019s room and found him sitting amid his new gifts crying bitterly.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy are you crying?\u201d the father asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause my friends will be jealous, I\u2019ll have to read all these instructions before I can do anything with this stuff, I\u2019ll constantly need batteries, and my toys will eventually get broken.\u201d answered the pessimist twin.<\/p>\n

Passing the optimist twin\u2019s room, the father found him dancing for joy in the pile of manure. \u201cWhat are you so happy about?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n

To which his optimist twin replied, \u201cThere\u2019s got to be a pony in here somewhere!\u201d<\/p>\n
