March for the George Family means \u201cAlmonte.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We’re weeks away from our Family\u2019s move, leaving St. Catharines and Niagara for Almonte, a great, small town about 40 minutes from Ottawa’s downtown.\u00a0\u00a0 We\u2019re all in a daze with the realization that the days and weeks leading up to our cross-Province trek will fly by. There is so much to do and only limited time now to do it. Hope to see and connect with many of our friends both in Niagara and in Ottawa in this next month. For those we will not have the precious time to talk to, I have tried to capture in verse my current thoughts as we leave our home to make a new one in Almonte. Until our paths cross again…<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Move<\/strong><\/p>\n

– So it\u2019s a calculated move?<\/em><\/p>\n

– Sorrta: <\/em>the vineyards were fine for the wineries<\/p>\n

but a working soul can wither in the Niagara sun<\/p>\n

We chose to leave the magnificent web we had spun,<\/p>\n

leave behind the comfort, contentment of the Briarfield lair<\/p>\n

to jump into \u201cthe next phase of our lives\u201d<\/p>\n

into the deep end, with both feet<\/p>\n

and now as we consider the many unknowns<\/p>\n

that leap has us free falling into the future.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is so much anticipated for Almonte<\/p>\n

We know it as a colourful, caring small town<\/p>\n

A Rockwellian Main Street that time passed by<\/p>\n

filled with genuine folk who smile, nod and<\/p>\n

go about their honest day\u2019s business.<\/p>\n

A wonderful home town to nurture a growing family.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We\u2019re excited about exiting the road we\u2019re on \u2013 for Main Street<\/p>\n

Yet I am certain we are accelerating towards new realities:<\/p>\n

Truths are exposed when no longer wrapped in familiarity<\/p>\n

The status quo is challenged when there are no recognizable boundaries<\/p>\n

Decisions are deliberately taken, one-step-at-a-time, when the path is unknown<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

– So, a calculated move: yes<\/em><\/p>\n

We are convinced that it is a necessary journey<\/p>\n

spanning both geographical and spiritual divides<\/p>\n

to discover new streets, new people and new truths<\/p>\n

to re-discover old feelings, buried muses and forgotten memories<\/p>\n

to exhume those lifeless parts of ourselves,<\/p>\n

prop them up in front of a mirror and<\/p>\n

dare ourselves to realize the potential and promise<\/p>\n

of our Family\u2019s prospects, our dreams and hopes for Life’s adventures.<\/p>\n
