To celebrate St. Patrick\u2019s Day, we all should know a few suitable toasts\u2026. Here is a famous Irish saying to start:<\/p>\n

“May the road rise to meet you,<\/em>
\nMay the wind be always at your back,<\/em>
\nMay the sun shine warm upon your face,<\/em>
\nThe rains fall soft upon your fields,<\/em>
\nAnd until we meet again,<\/em>
\nMay God hold you<\/em>
\nIn the palm of his hand.”<\/em><\/p>\n

To add to the spirit of the occasion, here are ten of our favourite toasts:<\/p>\n

May you always have a clean shirt, a clear conscience, and enough coins in your pocket to buy a pint!<\/p>\n

May the blessings of each day be the blessings you need most,
\nMay the most you wish for be the least you get,
\nMay the Lord keep you in His Hand and never close His fist too tight.<\/p>\n

Always remember to forget
\nThe troubles that passed away.
\nBut never forget to remember
\nThe blessings that come each day.<\/p>\n

May you always be blessed with walls for the wind,
\na roof for the rain, a warm cup of tea by the fire,
\nlaughter to cheer you, those you love near you,
\nand all that your heart might desire.<\/p>\n

May you always walk in sunshine.
\nMay you never want for more.
\nMay Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door.<\/p>\n

May you live to be a hundred years, with one extra year to repent.<\/p>\n

May your glass be ever full.
\nMay the roof over your head be always strong.
\nAnd may you be in heaven
\nhalf an hour before the devil knows you’re dead.<\/p>\n

I drink to your health when I’m with you,
\nI drink to your health when I’m alone,
\nI drink to your health so often,
\nI’m starting to worry about my own<\/p>\n

A toast to your coffin. May it be made of 100 year old oak. And may we plant the tree together, tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Here’s to a long life and a merry one.
\nA quick death and an easy one.
\nA pretty girl and an honest one.
\nA cold pint– and another one!<\/p>\n
