It was a crowded, excited audience at Mississippi Mills Council Chambers last evening as the new Mayor and Council were being sworn into Office. What a great evening when good friend Shaun McLaughlin was presented the Chain of Office. Here are a few photos and links related to the evening.

This ceremonial evening capped off a mayoralty campaign that was a classic fight between a well-known incumbent and a feisty challenger, the town’s establishment and a grassroots’ appeal, old school / ol’ boys versus new business visions of our community. Shaun proved victorious with a plurality of 61 votes from more than 5,300 cast. Clearly, the priority for Mayor Shaun McLaughlin will be to bridge these divides in our community and help facilitate more community involvement in developing the Town we all want to work, play and raise a family in. Here are some links related to Shaun and his 2014 mayoralty campaign.
